USMC PFT Calculator Guide — Scores, Classes and Combat-Arms Standards
Estimate Marine Corps PFT points from age, scoring sex, pull-ups or push-ups, plank time and a three-mile run, with a separate 2026 combat-arms check.

What This Calculator Does
Estimate US Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test scores using age, scoring sex, an upper-body exercise, plank time and a three-mile run. Results show each event’s points, the total, PFT class and the selected group’s minimum and maximum standards. Combat-arms mode adds a separate 210-point check.
When to Use It
Use it after a practice session to compare scores or explore what a different event result would do to your total. Performance inputs start blank. The Example button fills a 25-year-old male profile with 15 pull-ups, a 3:45 plank and a 22:00 run. Editing any input clears the previous result.
The calculator does not record an official test, judge exercise form, verify course length or determine exemptions.
Inputs Explained
- MOS standard: Non-combat arms uses the selected sex and age table. Combat arms uses the male age table for everyone and locks the scoring-sex selector accordingly.
- Age: A whole number from 17 to 100. The eight groups are 17–20, 21–25, 26–30, 31–35, 36–40, 41–45, 46–50 and 51+. The input limit of 100 is a software limit, not a service eligibility statement.
- Upper body: Choose pull-ups or push-ups and enter 0–999 valid repetitions. Enter the administrator-recognized count; push-ups use the two-minute event. Counts beyond the maximum do not add points.
- Plank: Enter minutes:seconds, such as
3:45.0:00is accepted as a below-minimum performance. - Run: Enter the full three-mile time, such as
22:00, not a one-mile pace or a 5K time. Seconds must be 00–59 and run time must exceed zero. The time-entry limit is 99:59.
How the Calculation Works
The upper-body, plank and standard three-mile run tables in MCO 6100.13A Admin CH-5 supply the event points, which are added together. Individual tables are also linked from the USMC fitness standards index.
The plank table is age- and sex-neutral: 1:10 earns 40 points and 3:45 earns 100. Below-minimum events are displayed as zero points and mark the test as not passed. Pull-ups cap at 100; push-ups cap at 70. Better-than-maximum performances remain capped.
This tool uses an explicit table-lookup convention for intermediate times. Runs round up to the next slower 10-second row; planks use the highest published threshold actually completed. It does not linearly interpolate between time rows. A run slower than the minimum standard fails that event before rounding. Treat the output as a table-based estimate and confirm official scoring with the test administrator.
MARADMIN 613/25 applies the male age-based table and a minimum 210-point requirement to designated combat-arms specialties from January 1, 2026. Check the notice’s specialty list and your unit’s guidance to select the appropriate mode.
Example
For a 25-year-old using the male non-combat-arms table:
| Event | Performance | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Pull-ups | 15 reps | 73 |
| Plank | 3:45 | 100 |
| Three-mile run | 22:00 | 75 |
| Total | 73 + 100 + 75 | 248 |
All event minimums are met, so 248 is first class. This group needs at least 5 pull-ups and earns maximum pull-up points at 23. A run of 27:40 or faster meets the minimum; 18:00 or faster earns 100.
A second example uses combat-arms mode, age 25, 11 pull-ups, a 2:28 plank and a 22:00 run. The result is 60 + 70 + 75 = 205: second class, but below the separate 210-point combat-arms requirement.
How to Understand the Result
Check event minimums before interpreting the total. Meeting every event minimum does not necessarily produce the 150 points needed to pass. A failed event means the entire PFT is not passed even when the other two events produce a high total.
First class is 235–300, second is 200–234 and third is 150–199, provided all events pass. A total below 150 is not passed. The combat-arms 210-point check is separate. “All event minimums met” describes only the individual event thresholds.
Common Mistakes
- Entering a mile pace or 5K finish time instead of the three-mile time.
- Entering
3.45when you mean three minutes and 45 seconds; use3:45. - Assuming the upper-body and run standards are identical across sex and age groups.
- Applying the female non-combat-arms table to a designated 2026 combat-arms specialty.
- Reading only the total and overlooking a failed event or the combat-arms requirement.
- Using historical crunch standards; this calculator uses the plank.
FAQ
Are altitude running and rowing supported?
No. This version covers the standard three-mile run. It does not apply altitude adjustments, rowing, partial tests, medical exemptions or alternative-event rules.
Do extra repetitions beyond the maximum improve the score?
No. Each event is capped. The push-up cap is lower than the pull-up cap.
Are my inputs saved?
No. Performance inputs stay in page state and reset on reload. They are not saved to browser storage or the URL. Copy results writes a summary to the clipboard only when you request it.

Preguntas frecuentes
What is a passing PFT score?
Every event must meet its minimum and the total must be at least 150. First class is 235–300, second is 200–234 and third is 150–199. Combat-arms Marines have a separate 210-point requirement.
How does combat-arms scoring change in 2026?
MARADMIN 613/25 applies the male age-based table to designated combat-arms specialties and requires at least 210 points. This calculator reports that requirement separately from the ordinary PFT class.
Can I score 300 with push-ups?
No. Push-ups award at most 70 points. With 100 points each for the plank and run, the maximum total using push-ups is 270.
How are times between published rows scored?
This tool rounds run time up to the next published 10-second row and uses the highest completed plank threshold. A 22:01 run uses the 22:10 row; a 3:44 plank earns 99 points. Confirm official scoring with your administrator.
Does PFT mean pulmonary function testing here?
No. This tool is only for the US Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test. It does not calculate lung function, other services’ tests or the Marine Corps CFT.
