Quick guide

What This Calculator Does

The pregnancy calculator turns one known dating source into a consistent calendar: an estimated due date (EDD), current gestational weeks and days, trimester, calendar progress, an estimated conception date, pregnancy milestones, and the date ranges for early term, full term, late term, and postterm pregnancy.

It supports five actual modes: last menstrual period (LMP), an already assigned due date, a known conception date, IVF embryo transfer, and gestational age reported on an ultrasound. These modes calculate date relationships. They do not predict the day labor will begin or confirm pregnancy, embryo or fetal viability, fetal growth, or the start of labor. If a clinician or fertility clinic has already assigned an EDD, enter that date directly and use it for care-related decisions.

When to Use It

  • You want a preliminary calendar estimate from a certain LMP and a regular cycle.
  • A clinician has provided an EDD and you want to see current gestational age, trimester, and upcoming date markers.
  • You have a reasonably known ovulation or fertilization date and want to convert it to conventional 40-week obstetric dating.
  • You had a day-3 or day-5 embryo transfer and need a timeline based on the transfer date and embryo age.
  • An ultrasound report states the scan date and gestational weeks and days, and you want to convert that reported age to an EDD.

If methods disagree, do not treat the website as an automatic redating tool. The best obstetric EDD depends on how the pregnancy was conceived, whether the LMP is reliable, the earliest suitable ultrasound, and the full clinical record.

Inputs Explained

Last Menstrual Period

Enter the first day of the most recent normal menstrual period—not the day bleeding ended or a day of isolated spotting. The page accepts an integer cycle length from 21 to 35 days and starts at 28 days. Cycle length means the interval from the start of one period to the start of the next. Each day above 28 moves the EDD one day later; each day below 28 moves it one day earlier.

The adjustment still assumes ovulation roughly 14 days before the next period. An irregular cycle, uncertain LMP, or cycle outside 21–35 days should not be presented as an equally reliable LMP estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the estimated due date the day birth will happen?

No. An EDD is a reference point for the pregnancy timeline, not a prediction of labor. Use the EDD assigned by your clinician when one is available.

Can I use the LMP method if my cycles are irregular?

The page applies cycle adjustment only to regular cycles of 21–35 days. For irregular, uncertain, shorter, or longer cycles, use a clinician or ultrasound report instead.

Why does an ultrasound date differ from the LMP result?

LMP recall, variation in ovulation, and ultrasound measurement uncertainty can all contribute. The page does not redate a pregnancy automatically; a clinician should establish the final EDD.

How is an IVF transfer due date calculated?

The page adds 266 minus the embryo age to the transfer date, which is 263 days for a day-3 embryo and 261 days for a day-5 embryo.

Can this result confirm pregnancy, fetal growth, or conception?

No. This is calendar arithmetic; it cannot confirm pregnancy, viability, growth, or the actual conception date, and it must not be used to infer paternity.

Due Date & Pregnancy Week Calculator

Estimate a due date, gestational age, trimester, term ranges, and calendar milestones from an LMP, known due date, conception date, IVF transfer, or ultrasound dating; not medical advice.

Choose a dating method

Use the date and method that best match the information you already have.

Calculation method

Enter the first day of the most recent menstrual period. It cannot be in the future.

days

Enter a whole number from 21 to 35 days. The LMP estimate adjusts from a 28-day cycle.

Estimated due date = first day of the last period + 280 days + the difference between the entered cycle length and 28 days.

Pregnancy date estimate

Review the estimated due date and the calendar derived from the selected method.

Your estimate will appear here

Choose a method, enter the requested date, and calculate to see the due date and calendar.

Calendar estimate only

This calculator does not confirm gestational age, viability, fetal development, appointment timing, or a care plan. Dates can change as clinical information is reviewed; use the due date and guidance from your qualified maternity-care professional. Seek urgent medical care for urgent symptoms or concerns.

How to use this estimate

Use one clear dating source

Choose the method that matches your record. Different inputs can produce different due dates, so do not mix dates from unrelated methods.

Understand gestational age

Gestational age is counted from a dating anchor about two weeks before estimated conception in the standard 40-week convention.
