Calculate per-item profit, margin and markup after entered product cost, shipping, fixed fees and percentage selling fees. Target-margin mode solves the selling price instead. This product-pricing task is separate from the trading margin calculator.
Use it for per-item pricing scenarios. Enter your actual cost and fee assumptions; no platform schedule is supplied. For simple percentage and markup arithmetic see percentage. The page does not produce business financial statements.
Product, shipping and fixed selling costs are non-negative, each at most 1e12. Percentage fees apply to entered selling price and must be from 0% to below 100%. Selling price must be positive and at most 1e15. Target margin must be non-negative and below 100%, with fee rate plus target below 100%. Target mode also requires positive combined fixed costs.
Let A=product cost+shipping+fixed fee, f the fee rate, and P selling price. Total cost=A+P×f. Profit=P−total cost. Margin=profit/P. Markup=profit/total cost. For target margin m, P=A/(1−f−m). Break-even price=A/(1−f). Divide entered percentages by 100 to obtain f and m.
Cost 60 and selling price 100 with no other fees gives profit 40, margin 40% and markup 66.6667%. Add shipping 5, fixed fee 2 and a 10% selling fee: total cost=60+5+2+10=77, profit=23 and margin=23%. To reach a 30% margin with those costs and fee rate, price=67/(1−0.1−0.3)=111.6667.
Markup uses all entered costs, including percentage selling fees. Negative profit means a loss at this price.
Yes. Price = fixed per-item costs ÷ (1 − fee rate − target margin), with percentages converted to decimals.
A per-item scenario, not business net profit. Fees apply to the entered selling price. No platform fee schedules, taxes, refunds or overhead are assumed; enter all relevant costs yourself.
Compare margin and markup, including your per-item costs.
